Plot Synopsis: This outlandish comedy set in the Australian outback features three performers, two drag queens and a transsexual, who travel cross-country to a remote resort where they are hired to perform one of their acts. Bernadette (Terence Stamp) is an aging transsexual whose calm dignity and confidence help her friends out of trouble. Felicia (Guy Pearce) is a wild and reckless drag queen with a tendency to offend others loudly and unapologetically. And in between is Mitzi (Hugo Weaving) who has a few secrets of waiting for him at the resort. They all board a lavender bus they named Priscilla and journey through the desert where they encounter a range of characters from local residents to Aborigines.
Winner of an Academy Award for Best Costume Design, lavish costumes, lush landscapes, and outrageous performances provide a captivating backdrop to this touching comedy of three unique personalities and their remarkable adventures.
