UPDATE: Since producing and performing in the Vday LA production, Andrea has turned her energies toward writing and directing with the upcoming short film Casting Pearls, soon to be expanded into a feature-length script. As transition consultant and voice coach for the award-winning film Transamerica, Andrea worked closely with Felicity Huffman during the creation of her Golden Globe-winning, Oscar-nominated character Bree.

Andrea has established herself as a sought after consultant and speaker on college campuses and in professional symposia for gender issues, media production and consumer protection. In addition to Deep Stealth, she has managed the image and strategy for million dollar companies and children's charities.

Andrea followed her stage debut in The Vagina Monologues with an appearance in Transamerica as Felicity's voice coach and has also appeared recently on a popular sitcom in a comedic turn. In addition to Beautiful Daughters, she can be seen in the popular HBO documentary Middlesexes and on such radio programs as Live with Leeza and NPR. Writing for and managing the over 5,000 pages of free, original informational and support content in Deep Stealth's suite of websites, she has been credited as inspiration to countless women in transition. In her free time, Andrea is mother to two happy kitties and enjoys the sunny weather of LA.

BIO: Andrea James is a tireless advocate for the transgender community, creating free websites with hundreds of pages of content. As a consumer activist, she has spent countless hours filing legal documents and writing alerts about scams that target vulnerable consumer groups.

After graduating with a Master's in English from University of Chicago, she wrote ads for ten years at top Chicago agencies. Her ads for blue-chip clients premiered on the Super Bowl and other major television events and were frequently among audience favorites.

Recognizing the power of the internet and other media, she began work on an ambitious project to elevate the status of transsexual women through an extensive site devoted to advice and consumer issues facing her community. Later, she spun off a section of this specialized site into a general-market site on hair removal for all consumers. Both sites are frequently mentioned as the best in their categories.

Having established a loyal following on the internet, Andrea now plans to branch out to film and television with her business partner Calpernia Addams. In 2003, they created Deep Stealth Productions, with the goal to counter the dismal depiction of trans people in the media with more accurate and positive portrayals.
