Can't Get a Date

Mandy is a modern dancer with relentless energy, rampant acne and a raccoon puppet for a friend. In spite of being an attractive woman, her skin and her uncontainable anxieties cause her to feel like a "troll," and cause her to physically flee encounters with women she finds attractive. She admits to feeling desirable when she's dancing, but once her feet stop dancing, they start running. Mandy learns she's going to have to take care of her skin and learn to be brave around women if she ever wants to start dating.

Mandy's life rotates around movement-based activity, like dance. So, what better place for Mandy to start conquering her fears than Kung Fu, especially when it's a lesson with the gorgeous Ary? Mandy can barely contain herself, when, after the lesson, she is cajoled into testing her bravery by pretending to ask Ary on a date. The next test of her bravery comes during an appointment with Dr. Geyer, a cheerful dermatologist who still intends to put needles in Mandy's face. After her nerves settle down enough for this (relatively) painless procedure, Mandy is off to see a different kind of doctor. Raven is a shamanic practitioner, who summons the stars and spirits to guide the receptive Mandy down the right path.

Whatever Raven did seem to work, because now the clear-faced and emboldened Mandy is meeting women left and right. In fact, Mandy was even brave enough to approach the captivating Teah, and they both ended up having the same idea for a date: trapeze lessons. Mandy seems to enjoy being airborne, and, whether it's bouncing around in the net or flirting aggressively over dinner, Teah seems to enjoy Mandy. Mandy gets flustered, but manages to keep in one spot long enough for a successful date. It turns out Mandy's dating hang-ups may have just been skin deep.
