The Queer Year in Television
With Rosie's return to daytime TV and new gay characters showing up on The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck and just about everywhere else, 2006 was still a very queer year on television. Watch as our Queer Year hosts discuss their favorite TV shows and moments of 2006.

The Queer Year in Music
All in all, it was a pretty good year for music. Lots of catchy new tunes from folks like Gnarls Barkley, Scissor Sisters, Justin and Mary J, and some terrific new artists like The Gossip, Dangerous Muse and Imogen Heap. Plus, it was a huge year for concerts with Madonna, Kylie, Mimi and Barbra all taking their shows on the road!

The Queer Year in Film
2006 was the year that Brokeback Mountain won big at the Academy Awards, and Felicity Huffman took home almost every Best Actress award for her role in 2005's Transamerica. Oh yeah - and some pretty good movies were released this year, too! Watch to find out which ones were our hosts' faves.

The Queer Year in Books
Night Watch, by British novelist and Tipping The Velvet author, Sarah Waters, was nominated for an Orange prize this year. And Mark Tewksbury, former Olympic swimmer and gold medalist, published his autobiography, Inside Out: Straight Talk from a Gay Jock. See what other books made our hosts' must-read list.

The Queer Year in Celebrities
Lance Bass, Neil Patrick Harris, T.R. Knight and Miss Cleo all publicly came out this year, and lots of celebs got married, had babies, filed for divorce - and some even did all three! See which celebs our panel thought made the most noise in 2006.

The Queer Year in Politics
The Democrats regained control of Congress this year, the Federal Marriage Amendment was defeated and New Jersey's Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality. Also this year, South Africa legally recognized same-sex marriage, while Canada and Spain celebrated the one-year anniversaries of similar legisilation.

The Queer Year on the Web
Blogs became even more mainstream in 2006 - particularly the gossip blogs. And as a result, we got to know Britney, Lindsay and Paris much better than we ever really cared to. On the other hand, there's certainly never a shortage of topics to dish about at the water cooler!

The Queer Year in Sports
Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and Amelie Mauresmo all made headlines - and made us proud - this year. The Gay Games returned to the U.S. this past summer, and the OutGames held their first event in Montreal. Hurrah for LGBT athletes!
