Roberta Marie Munroe
Roberta Munroe is a filmmaker and film consultant. She has been a director of programming and programmer at film festivals across the country and, of course, programmed the acclaimed short film program at The Sundance Film Festival for 5 years.
As a director, she was accepted into the Fox Searchlight Directors Program (foxsearchlab) and has made 2 award winning short films Dani and Alice and Happy Birthday that have played at over 150 film festivals worldwide and gained distribution deals on iTunes, Logo and through Wolfe Video.
She has been on several panels and juries including, Toronto Worldwide Short Film Festival, Big Bear Film Festival,
Palm Springs ShortsFest, NewFest and The North Carolina School of Film. Roberta has mentored students at Inner-city Filmmakers for 4 years and was named one of GONYC's 100 Women We Love and Top 10 Women In Hollywood by POWERUP.
As an author, Roberta's new book How Not To Make A Short Film: Secrets From A Sundance Programmer is being published by Hyperion and will be in bookstores January 20, 2009.
